Catherine Franklin, MS, LCAC (Esi)

Gerontologist, Addiction Counselor, Integrative Practitioner

Catherine “Esi” Franklin (meaning “born on a Sunday” in West African tradition) is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor and Gerontologist who blends evidence-based treatment with a holistic, person-centered approach. She is passionate about supporting individuals and families through healing, balance, and resilience at every stage of life.

Through RootWork, LLC, Esi provides comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments, DUI evaluations, and addiction education classes (ADIS) for individuals navigating legal or personal challenges related to substance use. She offers both Outpatient (OP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment, combining individual counseling, small group therapy, family therapy, relapse prevention planning, and continuing care groups. These programs are designed to help clients build sustainable recovery while honoring their daily responsibilities and unique circumstances.

RootWork, LLC also provides court- and probation-approved legal services, including Anger Management, Effective Parenting, Theft Prevention, and Budgeting classes. These services support individuals involved in the justice system while promoting personal growth, responsibility, and long-term success.

As a Harm Reduction Hub, RootWork, LLC distributes resources such as naloxone (Narcan), fentanyl test strips, and community education materials, ensuring access to life-saving tools and knowledge for individuals and families affected by substance use. In addition, RootWork partners with community organizations to provide public education workshops on addiction, mental health, and holistic wellness.

Beyond structured treatment, Esi offers integrative and spiritual services that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Her Mindfulness Soul Sessions invite clients to pause, reconnect, and cultivate presence, while her Energetic Alignment sessions support balance and harmony within the body’s natural flow of energy. She also draws from her studies in African spirituality, metaphysics, astrology, and ancestral wisdom. As a cartomancer, she uses tarot and oracle cards in an intuitive, interpretive style to guide those seeking clarity and direction on their personal and spiritual journeys.

With warmth, authenticity, and attunement, Esi creates spaces where clients feel both deeply seen and practically supported—whether through evidence-based addiction counseling, justice-related services, harm reduction resources, or holistic spiritual integration.
